– We don’t have any problems with anyone. Many people are happy and thank us for working and staying open at night, he says.

Just before 2 am on Monday morning, someone smashed a window to the store on Östra Vallgatan in Kristianstad. The store was on fire moments later.

Police believe the perpetrator or perpetrators smashed a window and then poured flammable liquid and lit a fire.

A security guard was able to put the fire out. The emergency services praised the security guard as a hero.

The police have carried out a forensic investigation and will review footage from the new surveillance cameras.

The police would like to have information from witnesses who may have seen something at around 2 am at night, by Östra Boulevardens lower street numbers and Sommarroparken.

Taher Alsayed says that he will set up cameras in the store.

– These people are looking to hurt us. I don't know who would want to do that. If they want to steal, they can just smash a window, he says.

Taher Alsayed compares the incident with the explosion in the tobacco shop by Galleria Boulevard a few weeks ago.

– We have to help each other to solve this problem.
