Children break into construction site: “The problem is the risk of accidents. The children can easily hurt themselves here”
The company Ikab Entrepenad uses large machines to demolish the old school, sort materials that are going to be recycled and clean up. In the future, Hjärtebacken's nursery will be built there.
The area is fenced off. The company is owned by Per and Ola (brothers) Nilsson. They say that children and young people often break into the area, mostly during the evenings and at night.
– They take apart or break the fence to get in. When there were windows, almost everyone was smashed; there were splinters of glass everywhere. They ruin whatever they can get hold of, says Ola Nilsson.
– The biggest problem is the risk of accidents. The children can easily hurt themselves here. We have torn down a lot and more can collapse. This is a work-site, he says.
He wants to reach out to parents in Gamlegården in particular, that they keep an eye on their children.
– The other evening, there were some 6-8-year-old girls in the area. I told them to go away. Then there was a dad on a balcony that got angry because I yelled at his children. He wondered what the problem was. The problem is that this is a construction site - no unauthorised persons should be here, says Ola Nilsson.
