Brother threatened sister for her choise of boyfriend

The man is in his mid-twenties. He was sentenced by the Kristianstad district court for unlawful threats, unlawful coercion and fraud.

He denied the charges. But the sentence was six months in prison.

The threats were directed at the man's sister and her boyfriend. They had been together for several years. The accused thought that the boyfriend was wrong for his sister. He sent threatening sms-messages. The couple had had to hide from the brother several times. In the end they were given a secret adress.

The girl's father had also tried to separate his daughter from her boyfriend. The father tried to send her to live with her mother, who lives in another town.

The brother appealed against the sentence in the Court of Appeal. The high court trial opened, but then he decided to withdraw his protest. And so the sentence against him from the district court stands fast.
