Barn burned down - suspected arson
The alarm about the fire in a barn was raised at 2.46 am on Sunday morning. The barn was situated on a field between Hammar and Nosaby near route 118. The emergency services in Kristianstad and police were sent to the scene.
The barn, with round bales in it, was completely ablaze. There were strong winds.
The police will carry out a forensic examination. There is a suspicion that the fire was set, that it is arson. Investigators were at the scene on Sunday. The police went around knocking on doors.
The police are not ruling out any connections between this fire and previous fires.
– Yes, I don't believe in chance. We have noted that there have been fires in other places in the neighbourhood. Of course, we’re trying to find a connection between them, says John Sjöblom, Internal Officer with the police.
Other fires that are being investigated are a barn in Fjälkinge that burned down on Friday 7th September. A barn was on fire near the airport in Everöd on the night of August 12th. On the night of July 31st, a farm with several buildings burned down in Nosaby.
