Ban on gatherings of more than 50 people

Gatherings of more than 50 people have been forbidden. This was announced by prime minister Stefan Löfven at a meeting with the press on Friday. Anyone defying the ban will be liable to a fine or imprisonment for up to six months.

The corona virus covid-19 has spread to all parts in the community. So the government has made a new decision to limit public gatherings. The limits also apply to private meetings.

The prime minister also urges everyone to stay at home at Easter.

– The situation is serious now, he said.

As of today there are more than 3 000 confirmed cases of the infection in Sweden, and 92 people have died. 214 people have been, or are in intensive care.
