Attempted murder in Österäng – Shots fired at two apartments

The police have made findings at the scene. It suggests that someone has shot at one or more apartments in an apartment block. Forensic technicians will investigate which type of weapon was used.

Forensic technicians and a special search dog have been at the scene. Several police patrols have been knocking on doors.

Two apartments were damaged. There were people in both apartments at the time of the shooting. No one was injured.

– The crime has been classified as attempted murder. It’s one of the more serious crimes in the Swedish penal code so we are taking the incident seriously. We have had a lot of resources at the scene, says Rickard Lundqvist, Press Officer for the police.

Do you see any connection with the earlier stabbing in Österäng?

– We will be looking into this during the investigation, says Rickard Lundqvist.

– We would welcome tips regarding the incident, both in the area around Österäng and in areas nearby.

The police had not yet arrested anyone in suspicion of the attempted murder on Sunday morning.
