Arbetsförmedlingen: 4 500 given notice “It causes concern, of course", says AF's Local Manager
One-third of all employees could lose their jobs.
– It creates concern, of course. It's never fun to be given notice. But we are a politically-controlled organisation that has to adjust to what the politicians decide, says Mats Hartman, Head of Arbetsförmedlingen in Kristianstad, Östra Göinge and Bromölla.
About the number, that is, 4 500 were given their notice, he says:
– Not completely unexpected. There have been clear signals from the policy since they decided on the budget in riksdagen (parliament). But one should remember that this is a notice. How many people will lose their job remains to be seen.
AF has 240 offices in Sweden. About 120 people work at the offices in Kristianstad, Broby and Bromölla. There are 68 people working at the Arbetsförmedlingen in Hässleholm. It is unclear if any offices will be closed.
The trade unions will negotiate with the employer as soon as possible about how many people will lose their jobs.
The goal is that everything must be completed in 2019. The employees have different lengths of notice periods. Those who have been employed for a long time have up to one year’s notice period.
