All clear for demolition of Folket’s park in Sommarlust
Folket’s park in Sommarlust is going to be demolished. The demolition will begin in December. Housing will be built there, a maximum of seven floors high.

Five years ago, the Municipal Council decided to buy Sommarlust Folket’s park. The plan was already to demolish the buildings and build housing.
But planning has taken time. The area is on the decline, something that residents in Kristianstad have criticised.

The Technical Administration believes that the demolition of the buildings can start in early December.
The plan is to build a residential building with a maximum of seven floors on Kanalgatan. There are also proposals for three-storey townhouses, retirement homes and parking garages.
The unions' houses will also be demolished.
At the end of the year, Sommarlust nursery will also be demolished. The premises are in bad condition. A new nursery will be built.
