After Swedbank's money laundering - Many of Sparbanken's customers are worried
Swedbank owns 22 per cent of Sparbanken Skåne.
Bo Bengtsson says that the bank has had several worried customers.
– This is entirely understandable. There will be a lot of speculation. It is therefore very important that we talk to our customers about it. It is important to talk about the difference between Sparbanken and Swedbank. We are a strong independent bank. We do not have any shares in Swedbank, says Bo Bengtsson.
But Sparbanken Skåne's ownership foundations are one of the 58 banks that together are the largest shareholder in Swedbank.
– Swedbank is our partner and shareholder. We are following what’s happening very carefully, says Bo Bengtsson.
Bo Bengtsson says that the bank is working hard to counter money laundering in all banks that are part of Sparbanken Skåne.
– There are those who try to carry out money laundering in Skåne as well. They are trying to get black money into the banks. I think that this can lead to better understanding of the security and control issues we ask our customers. We put a lot of work into counteracting it, says Bo Bengtsson.
