The former S government introduced additional services. The services are for people who have been unemployed for a long time or new arrivals that need an introduction to the labour market. But the M and KD budget which was voted through in the Riksdag (Parliament) has a lot less government funding for measures in the labour market.

Östra Göinge has many new arrivals. In collaboration with Arbetsförmedlingen (the Job Centre) 75 people have received additional services.

– We have had good results. We get happy every time someone resigns, because that means that you have found a real job, says Operations Manager Cecilia Flood.

"We do not know what is going to happen with the additional services," says Cecilia Flood, Operations Manager in Östra Göinge commune.

If the additional services are withdrawn, people will be referred to the social welfare services, to income support. In Kristianstad commune there are 403 additional services, both in the commune and with other employers.

Tina Gunnarsson, Head of Section at the Job Centre in Kristianstad, says to Kb Mosaik:

– The allocated budget we received does not allow additional services right now. Now we are working at different levels to handle the new situation after the new budget. We are in talks with Kristianstad commune to see what they can offer. Negotiations are also ongoing with the Minister of Labour, but we are waiting to hear.

– We have no answers now on how it will be for those who have lost their job, or if there will be any new measures.

Other types of employment are not affected.
