8 000 orienteerers to compete in Glimåkra

8 000 orienteerers will compete in Glimåkra on 27th-28th April. The FK Göingarna club has been planning the Tiomila (100 kilometer) competition since 2014.

The Tiomila competitions's full name is Tiomilakavlen - the 100 kilometer baton. It is a relay in orienteering with several classes, for both adult and youth.

Elite orienteerers from all over the world are coming to Glimåkra. Tiomila is the biggest ever event in Östra Göinge.

– All the pieces have fallen into place now, says Henrik Larsson, general secretary for the competition.

Soon, on 26th April, Trollacenter, the municipality's new sports area, will be officially opened.

– After the competition we're hoping that more people in Göinge will take an interest in orienteering, says Marcus Larsson, one of the people responsible for preparing the courses.
