700 homes planned near the water in Udden

The vision is a residential area with a marine theme, with homes near the water and marina. The plan is to start building already next year. Everything should be ready by 2025.

Bröderna Persson wants to build a residential area with 700 new homes behind Yllan. Today, among others, the company Bong is located there.

- The area is better suited as a residential area, says Mårten Persson at Byggnads AB Bröderna Persson.

The plans are being made in cooperation with the municipality. There can be housing here along Helgeå and on the beach along Hammarsjön.

- It is an area that caters to everyone in our city, there will be cafes, restaurants, recreation and exercise. We also get a more active boat life in the city, says Mårten Persson.

A new zoning plan must be made. At the moment only industrial buildings are allowed to be built in the area.

But the area is difficult to build on. Among other things, there is a risk of flooding.

The Planning Commission has promised to examine whether it is possible to change the zoning plan.

- It is an interesting development area. But many surveys will have to be carried out says Christina Borglund (KD), Chairwoman of the Planning Commission.

Should housing be built, it must be planned with, among other things, building a new embankment.

The focus should be on apartments.

There will also be room for a health centre, shops, gym, café and restaurants.

The municipality believes that they can start with a new zoning plan in 2020. However, the Environmental and Community Development Committee is already saying that several major surveys have to be carried out.
