– We are striking against acid sea-water and things like that. Some pupils will be marked as absent from school, but our class teacher has encouraged us to take part. He thinks this is important, said a class 9 pupil.

On the same day pupils demonstrated in 2 000 places all over the world. They want politicians to take the climate more seriously.

The initiaive comes from 16-year-old Greta Thunberg. She has been on strike from school to sit outside the parliament building in Stockholm.

Greta Thunbeg has been on strike from school every Friday since last autumn. To begin with she sat all alone outside the parliament building. She believes that politicians are doing too little for the environment and the climate. The poster reads: ”School strike for the climate”.
