400 homes and a new green oasis in the centre
There were three proposals to choose from. The panel thought that Liljewall's proposal had both good ideas about design and about the finances for the project.
– It is also an important factor, says Karl-Henrik Persson, Construction Manager at ABK and member of the panel.
The panel unanimously agreed on the decision.
The proposal also has a good solution for parking, an underground garage with about 200 spaces.
The soil that will be dug out will be used to make a hilly English park on top of the garage.
In the corners of the area, the houses will be 8-12 floors high. Other houses will be 4-5 floors high.
There will also be possibilities for cafes and more in the area.
But it will take some time before the proposal becomes a reality. A detailed zoning plan for the area will take about two years.
Construction will take place in phases. In about ten years, all of the parts will be finished.
How much everything costs is uncertain.
– But it will be one of the largest projects for ABK, says Henrik Strand, CEO of ABK.
– It will be quite cosy for the town, which will get an oasis, he says.
