40 people died in accidents in Skåne in 2018
On Sunday January 6th, the year’s first fatal accident happened in the northeast of Skåne. A woman died after a crash on Highway 21 between Ignaberga and Vinslöv. 2018 was a dark year for fatal accidents in Skåne.

Statistics from Transportstyrelsen (the Swedish Transport Agency) show that 40 people died in traffic in Skåne last year. Of these, 36 were men and 3 were women. In one case there is information missing.
It is a high figure in the 21st century. Since 2000, the number of fatalities has decreased.
In 2007, 67 people died in accidents in Skåne. In 2017, the figure was down to 28.
Several serious accidents have taken place on Highway 21. On January 6, this year's first fatal accident took place on the road. A woman died after a crash.
On October 7th 2018, two vehicles collided on Highway 21, west of Tyringe. A man aged 35 died in the accident.
