26-year-old sentenced to secure psychiatric care
The 26-year-old who kidnapped and stabbed a newspaper carrier has been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care with a special discharge review. This is what Kristianstad's District Court has written in its verdict.

The verdict was expected. Both the prosecutor and the defendant have sought forensic psychiatric care. A forensic psychiatric examination has previously shown that the 26-year-old was seriously mentally disturbed when he carried out the act on the 12th of August 2019.
The prosecutor requested deportation from Sweden after the period of hospitalisation. But the District Court rejected that plea.

The 26-year-old has been convicted of kidnapping, two cases of aggravated assault and gross trespassing as well as drug offences.
He will also have to pay damages to a total of four victims totalling 280,000 crowns. The largest amount of damages, 115,000 crowns, will go to the newspaper carrier, the 26-year-old that was kidnapped and stabbed.
