The hearing was held behind closed doors. It has been classed as confidential; the preliminary investigation is still ongoing.
The man lives in Kristianstad. The crimes he is suspected of took place on JH Dahlsgatan and nearby streets.
The 25-year-old was arrested at 11.42 am, that is, twenty minutes after SOS received an alarm about the incident. He has previously been convicted of violent resistance and minor drug offences.
Kidnapping is a crime which entails someone taking another person away or holding them captive with the intent to harm or blackmail them, or something similar. The penalty for kidnapping is imprisonment for a minimum of four years and a maximum of eighteen years, or life in prison.
In the case there are two victims (the injured party). One of these climbed on top of a roof, injured and bloody. He entered an apartment through an open window. A 19-year-old woman, who was in the apartment, told Kristianstadsbladet that the man was terrified; he said he had been tortured for several hours.
The police are looking for more witnesses.
