Shooting in Näsby – ”We feel afraid”
At 7 pm on Friday evening, the police received several calls about a bang from the suspected shooting in Näsby. A larger area around Bjäregatan and Vemmenhögsgatan was cordoned off. Forensic technicians and police dogs searched the area during the evening. The police questioned people at the scene.
On Saturday, the police said they found bullet holes in a car.
Rejhanullah Ibrahimi heard the shots. He lives in the area that the police cordoned off on Friday night.
– I think there were three shots, he says.
His parents have become more anxious lately, in particular when he’ll be home late in the evening after work.
– A lot has happened in recent months. We have become afraid, he says.
– I think the police are doing a good job, but I would want them to come here more often in the evenings. You don’t see the police when there are a lot of gangs out. The police probably know who the gangs are themselves.
He is considering moving from Näsby. He doesn't feel safe.
Kristianstadsbladet meets another man near the suspected crime scene. He also wants to move.
– I like living in Näsby. I have my friends here, but we are afraid. I don’t want to let my children out in the evenings. And I can’t move around the area as I want to, says the man, who does not want his name in the newspaper.
The police knocked on doors on Saturday. No one was arrested on Sunday.
On Thursday the 28th of November, there was a shooting at a residence in Vilan. No one in the apartment was injured. Police have classified the crime as attempted murder.
On November 14th, several shots were fired at an apartment in Näsby. No one was hurt. The crime was classified as attempted murder.
