The number of surgeries may increase by 20 per cent, to 850 more a year, in the new hospital in Hässleholm. The building will be getting 23,000 square metres over two floors, with six operating rooms and 28 examination rooms. Price: About 1.4 billion crowns.
The project is called FORTH which stands for ”Framtidens ortopedi i Hässleholm” (The Future of Orthopaedics in Hässleholm). A matter that has been long discussed in Region Skåne.
The hospital in Hässleholm is one of the country's leading hospitals for orthopaedics. Here there is a huge operation surrounding hip and knee surgery.
Today, approximately 4,500 surgical procedures are performed per year. But the premises and equipment are too old.
The new hospital will be built in three stages.
