Kristianstad attracts growing number of visitors
The majority of tourists visiting Kristianstad are Swedish, but the number of foreign tourists is increasing. The tourists come from Germany and Denmark but also from Holland, which has increased in recent years, according to Eva Berglund, Planning Strategist in Kristianstad municipality.
- Swedish tourists come to Kristianstad to visit relatives and friends. The foreign tourists are looking for nature; people want to replace the big city for peace and quiet.
The interest in cycling has increased, something the municipality is working on:
- In this area we’re working on how people can explore more by bike. We have just developed new maps with tips on good biking routes in the municipality.
The Regionmuseet (Regional Museum), Naturum, Vattenriket and Bäckaskog's castle attracts the most visitors.
