There was already a fire in Åbuamossen on Monday. On Tuesday there was another fire, between Osby and Hästveda. SOS Alarm was first alerted at 11 am.

The emergency services sent patrols from Hästveda, Bjärnum, Hässleholm and Osby. At 11.30 am, the emergency services thought that the fire was under control. But the fire spread quickly, probably via sparks from the fire. At 12.10 pm another fire in Tulatorp, not far from Åbuamossen, was called in.

Police worked on evacuating residents from properties that were at threat.

At 8.30 pm, the rescue service planned to reduce the number of staff at the scene.

– But we will have firefighters in place all night and morning, says Melissa Millbourn, Information Officer at the emergency services in Hässleholm.

”Take the most important things with you, they told us when we left. What is that exactly? We have lived in the house since 1952”, says Ronnie Månsson with his wife Ingrid, from Hågnarp.

Those evacuated have gathered at Hantverksgården in Hästveda.

– Staff from the municipality are there and taking care of those evacuated, says Melissa Millbourn.

Three helicopters dropped water bombs and monitored the fire. At most, 70 firefighters fought the fire from the ground. The locals also helped out.
