Association looking for new premises at Österäng

The Association för Culture and Handicrafts used to have premises at Österäng church. But now the church is being renovated. The association has been unable to find somewhere new. Now the members are hoping for help from the municipality.

– The association has a lot of activities for children and adults, at weekends and during the week. But now everything has been put on hold.

– Thanks to Österäng church we could start our activities, bit now we can't continue there, says Maryam Hasan, one of those responsible in the association.

They have been offered alternative solutions, but these are not suitable for everyone – not everyone has a car.

– We would like somewhere at Österäng. So that it's easy for the children to reach - and for us parents too, says Hussain Abbood, one of the parents in the association.

Facts

The Association for Culture and Handicrafts

The association has various activities, including lessons in Arabic and Swedish, IT, art, handicrafts and sewing.

The association started in 2018 and has 45 members. 47 children are enrolled in different activities.
